Odd problem cropped up this morning.

My 6360 with NewerTech 400, OS 9.1, 30gig HD with three partitions, has
been set to "auto start" each morning for a couple of years. This morning
it hung up just as it was starting to display the desktop icons.

Ran Disk Doctor which indicated problems with Apple DVD/CD preferences.
Got rid of them. Still have the same problem.

The system will start properly as long as the OS 9.1 CD is in the drive.
Otherwise is hangs at the same point each time.

Removed the Apple DVD/CD extension and system boots properly. However,
the CD Audio Player won't activate since the extension is missing.

Any advice? I am stumped.

Ken
