     Is there a level 2 cache card in there? take it out or find the key 
command for the XLR8 cache control (apple/option/x/r ???) - if you 
haven't installed the XLR8 software - Power Control???? just take the 
cache out and try again - it has to be disabled for the processor cache 
to be enabled - as I remember.
