The other thing is that with nothing hooked up to your 7300, and you attempt to switch Appletalk over to your Ethernet, it will not allow you to so. If you have the means, I would suggest that the easiest way to test your Ethernet is to hook up your 7300 to another Mac with a RJ-45 crossover cable...
