YDL is the easiest to get going, Debian isn't so bad either. MDK9.1 will 
be released soon if you can wait a little, though I don't think there'll 
be much difference made to the installer from 8.2 so it will most likely 
be just as hard to get up and running on a pci-mac. Worth the effort but 
a stint with YDL would prepare you better before tackling another less 
friendly distro.
