I have a Soundblaster Live in my 9600 that I use for gaming and it
sounds great with 5.1 speakers. The problem with it isn't the card
itself but the software. It was somewhat troublesome when I was running
8.6, which was mostly fixed by disabling one of its extensions. One
thing that was kind of annoying was that the output volume would creep
down on its own. Fortunately I never had any of the crackling or poping
sounds others have complained about.

It's been solid since I moved to 9.2.2 and hasn't exhibited any of these
gliches, even with all the extensions enabled.
