For what you are attempting it will probably work OK I'm using an SE/30 (16 Mhz/68030) with a hacked OS 8.1 as the jukebox that feeds up to 9 Gigs of mp3's to a network of Macs including a 7500/200 604e which is connected to my living room stereo system with four old fashion tall speakers. The 7500's built in audio out seem to work fine.
