Stored MP3s (on a hard drive or on a CD drive) will play fine with the 200 CPU. Consider that MP3s on CD play at single speed (1X) on a cd drive that is much slower than the slowest SCSI 1 hard drive. The CPU is not the slow down in this situation, but rather the drive's data transfer rate. The 44 MHZ stereo out sampling rate of your Mac will give great sound if fed into a good quality stereo amplifier.
