This is not rocket science so why make it so bigdeal??  The computer does 
everything for you.  All you need to do is plug in your CD player or 
turntable or cassette or receiver or whatever to the mic mini port, then out 
from the spkr min port to whatever stereo setup you have.  It does help to 
go through a stereo mixer--I got mine at a pawn shop for $20, and it has 8 
inputs/4 outputs and a good equalizer.  There are all sorts of setups you 
can do and it just depends on what you want.  Just do it.
