Hey gang o' mine...
What is the EM extension; what does it do? It is the 1st extension that loads
in my OS 8.6 7300 / Sonnet G3.
(Assuming that the first extionsion loads IS ALSO the 1st alphabeticly-listed
extension in the Ext. folder?)
It checks if you pressed Alt-Space (or Command-Space, don't remember right
now, I don't use that) during startup, and if so, it opens the Extension
Manager so that you may deactivate certain extensions. IMO it's useless, I
have removed it.
Of course if you remove "EM extension", you can still use Extension Manager,
the only thing you cannot do is to use it during startup.
It's not useless at all, particularly if you're in one of those situations where your Mac is crashing as soon as you get to the desktop. Also, once you've loaded Extensions Manager at startup and changed whatever you want to change, you can invoke a restart by hold the command (apple) + option keys while clicking on the close box and force a restart. Very useful. John
