I have a Performa 5400/180 running )S9.2 via a neat 'hack' I bought a Belkin USB Card from a guy on Ebay who said he'd been running the card in a Beige G3. I checked on the Belkin website to see if I needed to download driver/s, said this was not necessary in OS 9 as drivers are in built. Well the card won't work in the system profiler the PCI card is identified but information like "card type" etc is missing.
OS 9 has the drivers for the USB card, but if the card is not in the machine when OS 9 is installed, they won't get installed. Try a custom install off of the CD.
Or you can download The Apple USB drivers from apple.com You are looking for USB Adapter support. Get it at:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=31132
Unless your mac has built in usb, you have to install the support manually from the above address.
