It could be PCI 2.0 compliant and not able to use the card.
I thought PCI 2.0 was only compatible with X..and that you would not get that speed out of anything older.
You need to start reading more carefully :-O (That was sort of the point of my last post regarding this topic. Here it is again, below)

The version of a computer's PCI slot standard is one thing, the USB standard is another. It seems like most hardware is downward compatible for older macs and their slower PCI standard.
Now let's talk about USB. Macs for the most part are USB 1.1 capable only. OS X users can only use USB 2.0 devices at 1.1 speed unless they have an X compatible hardware manufacturer supplied 2.0 driver for the device. I don't use OS X but, unless I missed something, I don't believe Apple has started building USB 2.0 drivers into the OS yet. Nor are they supplying 2.0 USB drivers in any other fashion either.
