Or you can download The Apple USB drivers from apple.com You are looking for USB Adapter support. Get it at:

Unless your mac has built in usb, you have to install the support manually from the above address.
That's right sorry, I meant USB support from Apple, not the manufacturer. If your machine isn't USB native, you need those files from Apple to make a 1.1 protocol card work.

Most of Art's original post is below. If He's running 9.2.x he should already have the USB support stuff he needs. Since he hacked it, though, guess it wouldn't hurt to reinstall it. Also he was asking the PCI version of his Performa *not* USB version (which is 1.1 compliant). It could be PCI 2.0 compliant and not able to use the card. I am not familiar with Performas so maybe someone who is can answer the question he was actually asking. I have noticed that listers tend to confuse the issue on this topic whenever it appears.

Hi All, I have a Performa 5400/180 running )S9.2 via a neat 'hack' I bought a Belkin USB Card from a guy on Ebay who said he'd been running the card in a Beige G3. I checked on the Belkin website to see if I needed to download driver/s, said this was not necessary in OS 9 as drivers are in built. Well the card won't work in the system profiler the PCI card is identified but information like "card type" etc is missing. There is some information on the Belkin website referring PCI slot version needing to be 2.1 or higher. Anyone know what version PCI slot this Performa model is? <snip>
