Maybe try to remove both XLR8 control panel _and_ XLR8 extension (the XLR8 installer has an "Uninstall" option). Install PowerLogix G3/G4 Profiler instead, it does basically the same that XLR8 Speed Control extension (enables the cache), but from what I can see it is much more stable and causes less conflicts with other extensions or control panels. I have both Profiler and Toast Reader extensions enabled, and there are no conflicts. PowerLogix Profiler is available for free download at http://www.powerlogix.com/downloads/G3G4CacheProfiler1.5.sit >> I tried the Powerlogix G3/G4 Cache Profiler 1.5 today. No more problems with Chooser. Networked volumes mount as they should. MacBench indicates comparable performance on processor, FPU and disk tests as the XLR8 MACh Speed Control v2.6.1.
