what is the realistic "processing" times you seasoned editors are
experiencing for shall
we say transferring 30 to 60 minute VHS "movies" to a fairly high quality
and VHS equivalent quality VCD?

I don't do my video editing on a PowerMac, but for the the sake of an
example, a 45 minute VHS tape rendered to SVCD takes about 3 hours on a
wintel 1800/133 and ATA 100 HDD using Adobe Premiere. a friend has a video
business and uses a G4 and Media 100i; he does his rendering overnight
