I tried soldering a hybrid wire together but no luck.
You should be able to make a cable. On the Yamaha three pins, there should be left, ground and right. On the Mac logic board, the four pin is left, ground, ground and right. On the Mac side of the cable, jumper pins 2 and 3, and it should work.
(btw, this is my first Mac after 14 years of PCs, and I'm so happy with it. The case design is simply brillant. I've never had a computer I could actually take apart in 5 minutes before. Sorry, just had to rave for a minute.)
