hi listers,

I recently bought an 8500 (128 meg ram, i gig hd) but when one of the ram
sticks didn't work (slot A1), I opened it up. Considering it was late, I
wasn't able to properly seat the dimm, however, I noticed that there is no
ROM in the ROM slot. System profiler finds a rom (#7ff or something, I'm at
work now and don't have it on me, but my question is... what gives?? it
bongs, starts up runs (a few of the freebie games on board crashed it but I
dont take that as system problems. This computer would not run without a
ROM, correct? ids there another rom I don't know about (on the processor
card?) I'd appreciate some help figuring this out. do I need to get in touch
with the seller to find the ROM. I'm not sure my other 8500 has this rom in
it or not (and you folks know what a PITA it is opening up 8500's)

thanks,
Peter
