You could have a bad memory or an extension conflict.
Procedure:
1. Memory:
First remove ALL DIMMs.
Second install only 1 x 64MB or (largest capacity)
Third: zap the PRAM. Listen to the PING at least 3 times). If there is no PING, it's a bad memory.
Now check the memory total (72MB). If not, problem with that specific DIMM.
Will the 6500 run normally? If so,
Then Add the second module and zap again.
Thus you'll determine where the problem comes from.
2. Extension conflict: try Conflict Catcher (follow procedure)
Otherwise, do it manually by enabling only the most essential extensions & control panels & verify proper function.
Then add an extension or 2 at a time. Run test again.

I have no idea how, but my 6500 won't seem to work properly anymore. Any
attempt at a normal boot up gives an error 11, even when trying to boot off
a system CD (both OS 8 and OS 9.1). I am forced to boot up without
extensions and disable the Shared Library Manager PPC. The 6500 will now
boot properly but, as everyone knows, almost nothing will run properly
without the ASLM-PPC. Once I am actually booted into OS 8 or OS 9, if I run
the System Profiler, the computer name only shows up as "Mac Compatible" and
not "Powermac 6500" as it should.

There are no upgrade cards or anything of the sort. I have zapped the PRAM
7 times, reset the logic board, and installed a new hard drive.

Does anyone have any ideas?
