Aha! Someone has mentioned an actual camera they have experience of that sounds like a candidate for me. OK Ray, any chance that I could see some actual snaps on screen? I'd love to match what I see with my own eyes with a camera.

The auto-focus is hit-and-miss.
Minolta sells the same camera with different markings and a better instruction manual as the Dimage E233.
