Also to those for the "warnings" of possible problems. I have SCSI peripherals & do not want to upgrade them. (although I have a Firewire/USB card installed. I have my external HD hooked into the firewire port)) My 9.1 OS is rock solid & I like the whole setup. Actually, it is one of the main reasons I haven't bought a new Mac, and if I do, I'd better do it soon as some still will run OS 9 Classic. I'm just not sure there is enough advantage in OS 10+ to buy one. I am not into graphics in any major way. Don't use my Mac for anything but email & research. Basically, it's my "toy". (No business programs--I'm retired). I do have a lot of language, astronomy, art museum programs, etc. on it, but they work fine on 9.1. I'm not even sure I could use them with OS 10. I suppose if the Linux thing become a big enough deal to warrant buying one, I may & still just keep my old 6500, too. I have a router system I can connect them with if I want. One of the things I love about the 6500 is the built in speakers. No ditzy little gizmos setting around for me to knock off the desk! LOL
I shall save this, & the previous digest, & consider the info you guys sent some more before I make a move. Will viist the download sites, too. Thanks.
