Well I now have OS 9.1 and Toast 5.1.3 (on a PM 8500, G3 Newertech) and I still cannot get the drive to show up, although it will read cds now. I got someone to test the drive with that OS and version of Toast and it worked fine for them.
I notice the System Profiler shows the drive as a "mass storage device" is that normal?
Whenever I run Toast it just says there is "no cd burner connected, check power and cables" but it must be connected if it can read cds...
Does anyone have any solutions or do I just flog off this drive and try another one?
On another subject: I have 2 Multiple scan 15 av monitors and can't find any way to make the speakers work on them : what do I need?
Thanks, Wil Australia
