I would like to upgrade the video in my 9600. I currently have
a Sonnet G4/450 card installed, 608 megs of RAM, and the original

The general research that I have done leads me to the Radeon
7000 card. What I would like to know is: is this the card of choice of
this list? What is the difference between the 32 and 64 meg cards.
From what I have seen the 64 doesn't have the S video out, is this
something to consider or a "who cares" thing? What about compatibility
issues? I want to upgrade from 8.6 to 9.1 (or 9.2.x) and/or OS 10.x I
currently have an install for 10.1, but thinking about Jaguar.
I have a 9600/G4/800 running Jag like a champ with a Radeon 64 MB 7000 VGA/DVI/TVO and a Mac Radeon 32 MB card (2 monitors) in it now. I've played a LOT of Quake III Arena online (heavy 3d graphics) for the last two years with different cards. I used to have a VooDoo5 5500 before I got the Mac Radeon and even tho the VD was 64 MB and the Mac Radeon is 32 MB, the Radeon blew it away on the fps side (frames per second) while gaming. I wouldn't say the flashed 64 MB card is quite twice as good, but it is a very noticeable step in speed for my 3d graphics.
And no problems whatsoever installing Jag with the Radeons in......
