I've had the click of death problem....interestingly (for me anyway) it seems to be associated with drive use. I had one zip drive that did that and i put it away in a back closet. it worked a month later when i pulled it out again. You might be able to get it to mount by whacking (gently though) the drive as the disk is in there. I've gotten some disks to work that way. YOu can also just mount the disk in a different drive. Try unplugging the drive, giving it a couple of good shakes, and then plugging it back in. Be careful though, don't break it even more ;)Does anybody know a way to extract information from a Zip 100 cartridge which refuses to mount? I have tried several drives and in each I get: "Click... Click... Click... Click... would you like to initialize this disk?"
Norton 6 does not seem to see it unless there is a trick I don't know to force it!
I would hate to think the information is in there but irretrievable.
Sounds like the click of death, which means the DRIVE is dying or has died.
