odd pci modem

From what I have gathered, PCI modems that will work on a Mac are few and
far between. I am given to understand they need to be made for the mac. USR
and Zoom both made one but they were expensive (over $100).

Will a pci modem from my IBM Aptiva work in my 8500? Will I need to do some kind of "Flashing"? ~ Ben ~

There are a few, but very few (none of the WinModems will) that will work if you can figure out the script necessary for that modem. Put it in, see if the computer recoggnizes it, if so use "Modem Script Generator" to make the script for it. May take several tries to get the script right.
