>I would appreciate any tips or ideas about how to shoehorn another
drive into this machine.

You can always expand into the "basement".

Two 3.5" drives or one 5.25" drive can be mounted there.

This is the IDEAL place for a RAID pair ... right next to its
UATA/33/66/100/133 controller.

You may (probably will) lose one or more PCI slots by using the
"basement".

The 8600 also comes with the "basement" mount, and you won't lose any PCI
slots by filling up the 8600's "basement".

Can anyone tell me what this "basement" mount is properly called so that I can begin searching for one ?

TIA
