--AFAIK, you shouldn't need anything special software wise to make the install work.. However, if you need, I can send you a copy of a little freeware program called " Wish I Were" Which you can use to full the OS install to think your computer is a diffrent model.. Which will allow the install.. However I nor anyone else on the list can guarentee the stubility of it... -for what it's worth... nathan According to the Installing Mac OS 8 ReadMe file, it is a HARDWARE problem, that needs to be fixed before the machine can use OS 8. Apparently these repairs are covered under the Apple Repair Extension Programme. I somehow doubt that they will still be running this programme! So I wondered what the problem was and if I could fix it by bunging my big clammy hands inside the box and pulling a few wires, or summat along those lines! I ran the little utility file on the CD and it identified a 'logic' problem, if I recall correctly. (The machine is not in my house, but at my parents who are thinking of moving off of 8-bit machines at last!)
