That explains everything.  Because you live in the UK, there is a
barometric pressure problem that afflicts the ROM on 6200's.  To
upgrade to OS 8 in the UK on these machines, you need to download the
ROM flash from apple.com which is called UKBpres.rom and use it before
you upgrade to OS 8.


Is that true?
I wonder if it is still on their website.
S'funny that, I always thought that folk from other parts of the world
were a bit 'light-headed'!  Seems I was right.


The funny thing about it is that if you go straight to OS 9, there is
no need for the upgrade.  I believe it has something to do with the 8
looking like two bubbles on top of each other.....
