Do you have a USB card installed? My 9600 (only upgrade is Sonnet tempo trio card and Cd Burner) runs iTunes fine. My powerbook 1400, actually, would launch iTunes fine, import fine, but as soon as I clicked the play button, it would act as if it was frozen. I could force-quit out of it though. I had the same problem with the 9600 when I did not have the USB card installed (i had a belkin 2 port USB card and a orangemicro 2 port firewire card installed and it worked fine, I swapped those out for sonnet tempo trio and it still worked fine) I only had problems when no USB (or maybe firewire?) was present.

At least you can get iTunes to work on your machines. My upgraded PM 9500 G4 800mhz crashes when I try to import songs in iTunes 2.04. Does anyone have an idea what might be my problem?

We installed iTunes 2.0.4 just fine, and it works, except when it comes to
recognizing and communicating with the iPod itself.

If you can't add or remove mp3s from the iPod, try using Greg's Browser <http://www.kaleidoscope.net/greg/browser.html>.

The "music" folder in the iPod is invisible. However, Greg's Browser
has an option to make invisible files visible, and once visible, you
can use Greg's Broiwser to manipulate files in that folder.

Of course, if the Mac doesn't even "see" the iPod, that's indicative
of other problems, possibly with the FireWire card or the diverse
