By import I mean I've inserted a audio CD and launched iTunes to play it then I want to import it to my iTunes library by clicking the "Import" button which converts the aiff file to mp3. It starts the import alright but about 10 seconds in, it crashes my machine and I have to reboot. Has anyone else had this problem with iTunes on this list?

From an earlier post someone suggested an AV uitlity. I tried it but it didn't do fix my problem. Thanks

At least you can get iTunes to work on your machines. My upgraded PM 9500 G4 800mhz crashes when I try to import songs in iTunes 2.04. Does anyone have an idea what might be my problem?

I had the same problem for awhile on my Mac and couldn't resolve it. I tried a dizen different things. It was actually in OSX. I finally did a reinstall of iTunes and it has worked perfectly since.....

iTunes is much better than SoundJam IMHO as I have both.

But since iTunes doesn't work on Peter's machine which is not running OS X, your point is...?
