There's only one way for the sled to go in and be secured by the catch.  The
standard HD sled is too long.  I assume that the sled used for the zip drive
bay must be slightly shorter?

facing toward you is facing toward the power supply?  I ran into the
same issue when I had it attached normally.  Rotated it 180 degrees, and
it fit perfectly.
