The bays are the same, at least on my 7500.  I used a standard
61/72/73/75/7600 style HD sled on mine.  But, for it to latch into
place, I did have to turn it around backwards, otherwise, it stuck out
too far.  Sounds like the sled you have might be different than the one
used for the main drive on your machine.  Could try swapping them and
see if the second drive now fits correctly in the lower bay.
