First of all, let me thank Colin for the help. I was able- by jumping thru hoops- able to find the magic configuration and
start the G3. But, I have other questions:
1. What is the largest HD permitted by this machine?
(I have a Seagate 80 gig and a Maxtor 80 gig IDE, I have not succeeded with OSX install in either and mounting)
2. Will another IDE controller allow me to use a larger drive and more devices?
3. Does anyone have any experience with a G4 ZIF upgrade in a desktop G3?
4. And finally- for the moment- if I install a G4 ZIF will it allow me the use of my Pioneer 106 DVD and Apple's iDVD?
I know there is a lot of discussion about G3 upgrades and the cost effectiveness of it, but I find it difficult to find any
machine with an internal DVD burner that is a "real value." Either way, you pay. Thanks to all!!
