Hi all, Thanks for all the info about my problem. So far so good at it has been running fine for the last couple of days. I will definately look into the memory being a problem. That is very possible, as I have had some go bad before and that is what took out my last computer. Don't know about it being a hard drive or the sonnet card. I tried booting from another drive I have in the 9600 (which has 8.6 on it) and the same bomb. Then I pulled the sonnet card and put back in the old 200mgz 604e, same bomb. It might be getting hot but I have the main hard drive on the floor of the 9600 just behind the fan on the side panel and another fan in one of the PCI slots. Thanks again for all the info, I will check things out. At least I have some places to start. Thanks, Pam
