I've used PC hard drives many times in Macs before. My procedure is
while in the PC I use a free program that erases everything from the
platters. http://www.killdisk.com I do not format it on the PC once
it's erased it's "dead." I then place it in the Mac and use The
Drive setup disk that came with my 6500/250 to reinitialize my disk,
since it's been zeroed it's old data doesn't conflict with this
procedure. Install OS and voila you should be able to use your 60gb
HD on your Mac.

Good luck!!
