Greetings all
I've sold a working pull IBM Ultrastar 36 gig drive to a swaplister, and he is having problems mounting it in his 9600. I quote:
"To be more specific on the drive: It spins up when the computer turns on,
but before Mac OS starts booting, the drive spins down. Whenever I try to
do things with Hard Disk Toolkit, it gives me an error about the device not
being ready. When I try to do anything within FWB Configure, I get an
error: "Drive not ready to perform this command, it may need to be
started."
I have an IBM Ultrastar 36 GB drive in this 9600 as well that works excellently. The only problem with them is that you need the correct adapter and termination on these drives. I used Apple Disk Utility to initialize and mount this drive.
Did you provide the adapter from the 'working pull?'
