MUA - Mail User Agent == your mail client


MTA - Mail Transport Agent == the program that actually delivers email (i.e., sendmail or postfix).

MDA - Mail Deliver Agent == the program that receives email, and routes it to the appropriate mailbox (i.e., a different part of sendmail (mail.local) or procmail)
