The Orange PC needs to be able to go through the Mac's built in EtherNet
connection to a DSL modem and then through that to the Internet. In order
to do that I will need to establish specific IP addresses. That is
something I have never done and am somewhat uncertain as to how to do since
on a Macintosh the IP addresses are normally set up automatically by the
machines themselves, or dynamically from the Internet provider's server.

It has been more than a year since I set my OrangePC up to use our DSL router, so my memory is kind of fuzzy. We do not have a static IP address. Our router assigns IP addresses as needed via DHCP.

I used the instructions that came with our DSL router, as follows (These are for Windows 95/98/ME - I don't know if they work for NT):
#1 From the Start button, click on "Run"
#2 In the Run dialog box, type "winipcfg" and press the Enter key
#3 Select your network adapter card from the drop-down list
#4 To reset the IP address, click the "Release All" and then the "Renew All" buttons
#5 Click the "OK" to close the utility

Depending on your router, and how you configured it originally, you may or may not need to adjust some settings in the security area. You may need to restart the computer and the router too.

I am using a second monitor since a loopback cable was not provided.
Was it an option on the 530?

I don't know. I think all of the OrangePC cards originally came with the OrangePC Software, the video loopback cable, some monitor adapters, and whatever Windows OS you ordered. Maybe some extra RAM if you ordered that too.

I have gone to Orange Micro's site. The manuals, FAQ's and update
software are helpful but not sufficient. What is needed are users that can
help each other since Orange Micro no longer supports the product.

I am definitely not a Windows-savy user. I have taught myself a little about the Windows environment so I can communicate with my various suppliers (non of which are Mac users). Putting a PC compatibility card in my 9600 seemed like a more Mac-like thing to do than buying a PC box. I only spend enough time on the dark side to convert the spreadsheets or database files a suppler sends me to something I can use on my Macs.
