I am currently using a hub but not a router. I needed to buy a router. Will
the Orange Micro card find the router OK without specifying a specific
address (I assume it will since you are doing it).

>I used the instructions that came with our DSL router, as follows
>(These are for Windows 95/98/ME - I don't know if they work for NT):
>#1 From the Start button, click on "Run"
>#2 In the Run dialog box, type "winipcfg" and press the Enter key
>#3 Select your network adapter card from the drop-down list

My difficulty may come in because I am using the internal EtherNet
connection on the Mac and not an add on card.

>All" buttons
>#5 Click the "OK" to close the utility

Which brings me to a new item. I am trying to do the shared folders. So far
I have been unsuccessful. I want to take a Mac folder with a couple of PC
files in it that I downloaded using the Mac and get the Orange Micro PC to
recognize it as a shared folder.

I have been trying to do it as follows:

I start up Orange PC. Then I do the command D to switch back to the Mac
screen. At that point I select the Orange Micro application and go to file
and down to setup. At setup I go to shared folder F. I select the option
set volume. Then I find the folder and select it with CHOOSE. Then I do
cold boot. At that point, from the information in the manual, I should be
able to find that volume in My Computer. I have used a very simple name for
the shared volume, SP6. That should not violate any DOS naming conventions.
I am evidently missing a step or doing something incorrectly because the
volume does not show up in My Computer.

If you get a moment, reply with your comments.

Thanks,

Neal
