I have always unplugged ADB keyboards while the computer is running, not
just my PowerMac 7300, but my old G3 350Mhz Blue & White, all our SE/30s,
SE, Classics, Plus, etc.

When you say do not unplug while running, does that mean do not unplug from
anywhere, or only the actual connection to the back of the computer. In
other words, is it ok to unplug the ADB keyboard where the cord connects to
the keyboard itself?

I've never had any problems. Maybe I'm just extremely lucky?

You and me both Vern.

But I have known for a decade that there is always a chance of a short or static charge. This might blow the chip that controls
the ADB I/O.

I have spare motherboards so I don't worry so much. And I always pull the plug out straight. But we had a recent thread were this was debated.
And pulling or inserting the ADB with the machine on is considered just TOO risky.
