OK - I've loaded all of the Location Manager bits (LM CP v.2.0.1, LM
Extension v.2.0, LM Guide v.2.0, an LM Modules folder with 15 items in it
and an LM Control Strip which doesn't show up) but on clicking the LM CP it
tells me I need OS 8.1 or later - I'm running OS 9.2.1??? What am I missing
I can't see anything else in the Install tomes?

Did you do all this via the custom install or are you hacking the tomes? If the latter, perhaps you missed a piece so you need to try the former. OTOH, if the former, assumin you started from a baseline full install CD, perhaps there are required updates to these components in later updaters. And on the gripping hand, perhaps the err is coming from one of the modules you don't care about so maybe pulling them might help? ow my head hurts. Um, also check to make sure you're running an up-to-date CarbonLib? :)
