To use a VGA (multi-sync) monitor on a Mac II series computer, you'll need to get an adapter like Griffin Technology's Mac II Series Adapter (PC).
Look here: http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/monitor_adapters/
Griffin's on-line price is no bargain ($25!), but it may be less elsewhere.
On the bright side, the ViewSonic adapter will work fine on your 7200!

I have a Viewsonic Perfect Flat A72f monitor that I want to connect to a IIsi & later to a 7200/75. I have a "Universal Mac Adapter" from Viewsonic.
