I also have a couple of those ViewSonic adapters. They only work with computers or video cards that support multi-sync monitors.

To use a VGA (multi-sync) monitor on a Mac II series computer, you'll need to get an adapter like Griffin Technology's Mac II Series Adapter (PC).

Griffin's on-line price is no bargain ($25!), but it may be less elsewhere.

On the bright side, the ViewSonic adapter will work fine on your 7200!

a  "Universal Mac Adapter" from Viewsonic.
