I have this happen to me when I bought a old 8100. Everything looks
fine except it won't boot. Turn out the SCSI cable is bad. Replace
the cable, and everything's working.

I have a IIci that won't boot, but that's because the Motherboard's fried.

---------
I have a IIci motherboard that I bought on Ebay and never used, I also have a full
IIci computer w/o monitor or keyboard that I don't use. If you would like them, I
could let you have the whole thing for about $25 plus shipping. There is also a NuBus
video card, and an extended video card, and a Cabletron Network card in it. (Sorry for
the ad, but I rarely see others with a IIci.)
