>The case has the bezel for
the zip drive, and I've got both a scsi and an ide zip mechanism...but I'm
puzzled as to how the drive would mount to line up with the bezel. If I use
a typical 3.5 drive mounting sled, the zip ends up too low...by half an inch
or so...to match the slot in the case. What sort of mounting did the drive
have stock? Or how can I fabricate something to make the drive line up?

A "U" shaped metal adapter, which attaches to the ABS plastic sled with 3mm screws, and to the side of the Zip with the same.

This adapter is used only on DT Macs, not on MT Macs.

Early machines with Zips had a SCSI Zip because of the Rev. A ROM
limitations. These Zips require a floppy-type Japan Molex power connector.

Late machines with Zips had an EIDE Zip, as these were Rev. B or C
machines. These Zips require a hard drive-type AMP Mate-N-Lock power
connector.

The MT was supplied with two power connectors just on account of the Zip.
The DT was supplied with a Mate-N-Lock to Japan Molex adapter.

I have been trying to figure out how to put a Zip drive in a 7X00 case. I have a SCSI drive and the power connector..
I cannot find a bezel for this purpose and don't know if one has ever been made.I haven't checked the location of the slot when mounted yet
but the sled shouldn't be too difficult.

Has anyone out there done this ?
