I finally gave up on the WebRamp 7300s Router. I took your advice Clark and
bought a new D-Links 524 Wireless Router today. Don't have the Airport
Extreme card yet, so it's hardwired for now.

Called tech support and had a connection in a couple minutes. Now the
PowerMac 7300/500 and G4 iBook are both connected with no trouble.

Will sure be nice to have wireless someday!

Question: If I have only the Airport Extreme card, will I be able to take
advantage of the wireless connection with the D-Links 524 Wireless Router?

Yes

Or do I also need the Airport Base?

No you don't. Airport is simply Apple's name for their 802.11 wireless hardware and supporting software.
