Hi Bob,

I have a 9600/G4700 I just installed os 9.0 the upgraded to 9.1. I then got a hold of os9 helper and installed 9.2.1. After doing that the computer rebooted and said the finder unexpectedly quit. I the used os9 helper again and installed 9.2.2 After installing the computer rebooted and said it could not find "NCD" and told me to insert a boot disk? When the computer tried to shut down it locked up. I restarted the computer and it seems to work okay, but whenever I either shutdown or reboot it locks up tight.

Anyone know what this NCD is?

I have an 8600/G4/700 and I used OS 9 Helper to install 9.2.1 and 9.2.2 and it worked great.

If you use 3rd party extensions, try disabling them. If you can reboot and shut down, then one of those would be causing the problem.

Also see if you have any startup/shutdown items running.
