I hate it when that happens. Its possible that you just need to re-insert a power 
cable that was already loose and jiggled free from the CD-ROM drive while you were 
moving it. Unplug it and plug it back in. The large four-wire white plastic cable 
connector that plugs into the CD-ROM drive beside the flat grey ribbon cable has the 
5v, 12v and ground wires.

If the CD-ROM drive really is pooched you can replace it by asking for another one on 
the Low End Mac SWAP List. They usually go for under $15.00 including postage.
