I had an 8600/300 and transplanted it an a 7300/180 case. ThenI hunted down the 350 MHz 604/ev card just for fun. That was a cool machine. Still good for lots of stuff. Also, has anyone
transplanted a 8600 mobo into another type of case,
and if so which kind?
Sure.
Works in any "7500 Series" case (7200, 7300, 7500, 7600, etcetera), but it will require a 7300 PSU, NOT a PSU from the others mentioned.
All the latches and screws line-up, and it's a pretty clean, pretty mean machine.
