There have always been security issues with Linux, as well as Mac OS X. During the life of OSX there have been dozens of security issues, most patched pretty quickly. Nothing has 'shocked' the linux community. There have been some holes this year that, due to the underlying libs being integrated into a wide variety of tools, affected a lot of systems but still, upgrading those underlying libs fixed the problem. This is exactly what I was talking about. It did catch some people with their pants down so to speak. :) I'll agree with 99% of what you said especially about the motives of AOL. I'm not sure I'll agree with you about weather or OS X can be exploited? However I'll agree with you it's very unlikely to be exploited. Short version Mac's and OS X just aren't nearly as attractive a target.
