Yes, I understand. Good idea. Perhaps I will have better luck with the microphone. Let it hear Sly and the Family Stones emanating from my speakers... Or record some foul language for some alerts... Because of my settings on other parameters in the sound control panel, it does say specifically - after hitting the "new sound button" in the alerts panel - "Recording from: CD (Built in)" Hence my question.
