I've been told the drives in question have 68-pin connectors on
them. This
is a type I don't recall ever seeing.
If this is the case, there are two choices. Get a cable that can
connect
between the drive and the 9600's port; however, while I'm sure
this type of
cable exists, it is probably not very common and difficult to find.
That's right. I recall people looking for the elusive 68-pin
adapters and,
IIRC, they are expensive and hard to find. Since this is something I
haven't needed before, though, I haven't paid close attention to
it. If my
assertion is wrong, (someone) please correct me. Does anyone have a
ballpark price range for these cables?
James, check this out...

Seems to cover the gamut, with good info... adapters aren't that
hard to find, in fact I have a 68 to 50 internal adapter on my Atlas
10K drive in my 9600, and it works fine. Hope that helps.
YMMV,
Pete
