Peter, in case you may not know, are you using an AMD Athlon
approved power supply? Athlons require a ps with special
specs.

I'm presently working on an 800 mhz Athlon, Abit KT-7 w/ 128
mb ram. I
tested the board with the power supply and video only for 3
hours and it
ran fine. Put the hard drive in (8 gb Quantum Bigfoot) and
it ran
fine. The same for the SB-16 sound card and AOpen 56k
WinModem, each one
installed separately with no errors. I then ran the complete
system for 15
minutes at which point the monitor shut off and the system
failed to
respond. I shut off the system and then it won't even come
on. It is
completely dead now. The cd rom, floppy, sound card and hard
drive are
from an older system, all of which ran fine in it not more
than 2 days
ago. I'm stumped. I had the power supply running on another
system, this
one right now in fact and it was flawless. Any idea's would
be greatly
appreciated.
